Launch TNT

new DataHunter TNT now runs in the browser

No more manual tick & tie. recalculating. prior-year checks. figure checking.

DataHunter TNT checks financial statements for arithmetic errors, for figures that drift apart within the document, and for deviations from the prior year. Opening, calculating and ticking off all happen on your own machine — your clients' figures never leave it.

The problem

Tick & tie is still a calculator job.

The final review of a set of financial statements is largely about arithmetic accuracy, consistency and prior-year comparison — exactly the work a tool does more evenly than a person late in busy season.
manual

Recalculating by hand

Totals, subtotals and note tables all have to add up in the end — line by line, page by page.

consistency

Figures that drift apart

A figure from the balance sheet reappears in the notes and the management report — and suddenly no longer matches.

prior year

Prior-year deviations

The prior-year column should match last year's statements. Verifying that by hand costs time every single time.

records

Audit records on the side

What has been checked ends up in a separate Excel tick list — detached from the document and hard to follow.

data

Client data in the cloud

Many tools require uploading sensitive financial statements to third-party servers. For many engagements that is simply not permitted.

setup

No admin rights

Desktop software needs installation and permissions. In audit practice that means an IT ticket and a wait.

Side by side

The same work — just no longer by hand.

DataHunter TNT does not replace audit judgement. It takes over the mechanical steps that come before it and records what was checked.
Manual

Calculator, ruler
and an Excel tick list.

  • Recalculate every total one by one
  • Compare the prior-year column line by line against last year's statements
  • Hunt down every other occurrence of a figure in the document by hand
  • Keep the tick list separately in Excel
  • Start over whenever a new version of the statements arrives
With DataHunter TNT

Check, tick off, document —
in the same window.

  • Figures are captured from the statements and grouped into totals
  • Reconciled against the prior-year statements, deviations flagged
  • Every occurrence of a figure in the document listed
  • Ticks with status, comment and timestamp right on the document
  • Reopen the .tnt project later and carry on

How it works

Three steps from the statements to a documented review.

No setup, no learning curve. TNT opens in your browser, the document stays on your device, and what you end up with is a project you can file.
1

Open the statements

Open the current year's statements, plus the prior-year statements for the external check. The files are read locally.

Run the checks

Mathematical consistency, internal check and prior-year comparison. Findings are marked right on the relevant page.

Approve or reject line items, add comments and save the project as a .tnt file. Several export formats are available for the audit file.

What it does

Three checks and the tools around them.

Not a generic AI tool. DataHunter TNT does a manageable number of concrete things that are done by hand today — traceably and on the record.
Mathematical Consistency

Arithmetic accuracy

TNT captures the figures from the statements, proposes totals that belong together and shows where the arithmetic does not add up.

  • Totals, subtotals and balances
  • Note tables against balance sheet and income statement
  • Adjustable tolerance for rounding differences
  • Findings are marked directly on the page

FAQ

The questions that come up first.

Your question is not on the list? Write to us directly.
01What happens to my client data?
It stays on your device. DataHunter TNT opens the statements locally in your browser, all checks run there, and the project is saved locally as a .tnt file. Document content is not transmitted to us.
02How can I verify that?
Open DevTools in Chrome or Edge and switch to “Network”. Opening a set of statements and running the checks produces no requests carrying document content. Connections exist only for login and subscription management.
03Do I need an installation or admin rights?
No. TNT runs in an ordinary browser — no installation, no add-ins, no IT ticket. That was precisely the reason for moving from the desktop into the browser.
04Which browsers are supported?
TNT relies on the File System Access API and therefore runs in Chromium browsers — Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Firefox and Safari are not supported at present.
05Can I exchange projects with the desktop version?
Yes. The web application reads and writes the same .tnt format as the existing desktop version — without conversion.
06What does DataHunter TNT cost?
The demo is free and needs no account. With a free account you can check your own statements with a limited tick list and without export; the full feature set comes with the subscription. You will see the current price when you upgrade inside your account — more on the pricing page.
07What about DataHunter, the document matching tool?
DataHunter remains available as a desktop application for Windows and continues to be maintained. You will find the current version and the manual on the download page.
